A Ruthie for Sarah

I made another Ruthie. It was meant for a little girl as her 4th birthday present, but I didn't get to finish it on time. I bought some other presents for her. The unfinished bear hung out for almost two weeks on my sewing table because I didn't feel like sewing at all. I finished her today, and Sarah got to have her.

This project is definitely a great way to use my fabric scraps. I love my fabric stash to bits. It's really hard sometimes to cut them and make them into something. But then again, if I don't use them, I won't be able to buy more of those awesome fabrics out there.

I think I'm getting better at satin stitch applique. It's still not perfect, but compared to the first time I made it with the first Ruthie, it looks a lot better on this one.

Do you see a small hand right there? Sarah was trying to grab Ruthie while I was trying to snap some photos of her.

Silly girl! I think she's happy to have the bear.
